Picnics are Spectacular! Weaning? Not So Much.
On Friday, we picnicked... TWICE!
In the late morning the little guys and I met up with my good friend Elaine and her twin girls, Nicole (Coco) and Taylor (TayTay). Casey is so desperately in love with them. The boy who cannot stand to holds hands with anyone (thou shalt not restrain thy two-year old!) let the girls lead him around by the hand for three hours. It was a great time and the weather was perfect. Casey left lunch a blissful little boy.
In the evening Hubs decided he Needed. To. Get. OUT. So we picked up subs and lo mein from the grocery store and headed to UCF with my (pregnant, yay!) sister and brother-in-law. The weather was still outstanding and, of course, the company was pretty good too!

I'd like to thank everyone for their kind and encouraging words about weaning. Well except my (pregnant, yay!) sister, who said the post was 'disgusting'. Hah. Don't worry, Jess, you'll get yours. As for an update, well, it's going. It's been more emotionally taxing than I expected, especially when JJ makes it clear that he really really really wants to nurse. But, it's time, and we'll all survive.
At present, my boobs look an awful lot like Kristen's because the right one just isn't getting the 'no more milk, please' message. Hubs put it so tactfully when he said 'you're sporting a light-weight and a heavy weight.' He was watching Million Dollar Baby when he said it, so I guess I can forgive him.

Consider Yourself Weaned.
About .4 seconds after Hubs took this picture, JJ bit down. Really effing hard. It's not the first time he's tested his teeth on me, but it is the first time since he turned one. And that was my threshold. No more boobies for you, kiddo. You're done, did.

Cooking is Overrated. Chinese Food is Underrated.
There's a little mom and pop, super authentic, Chinese place near our house. We don't get take-out often, but when we do this place is on the short list. Keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed that it survives the economy!

My Contortionist Baby.
I have no excuse for being a naughty no-posting blogger. Except I'm tiiiiiiiired. And Casey has another cold. And there's not enough Purell in the world to save me from the rivers of snot I'm wading through. Ick.

A Family Picnic
On Saturday afternoon we met up with my sister and her husband at the University and had a really nice picnic lunch. I'm pretty sure Publix makes the best subs ever. I ate my whole sub. And wanted more. Mmmmm.

Happy Unbirthday, Jonathan!
We celebrated JJ's first birthday a little bit early so his namesake, my Uncle Jon, could join in the festivities. The party was fun; close friends and family with burgers and dogs. Not sure why my stomach gets all in knots before these things, but it always does.
