It's All About The Food. But Isn't It Always?

Josie's First Solid Food

Josie's started eating cereal. I can't even understand how this is possible. What with her being born yesterday and all. She likes it. You know, when I remember to give it to her. Which is pretty much when she's screaming and flailing at me after a nursing and I'm looking at her like, WHAT?! And then I remember, she's probably still hungry. So, a few times a week.

Also, I went to a nerdy Hunger Games party where we all brought food inspired by the books, then we talked about the books, then we went to the movie and complained about all the things in the movie that were different than the books. It was pretty much awesome and you wish you were there.

The Week in Pictures. See, We're Still Around. And Keeping Busy!

The Boys Table at CiCi's
Cici's with our friend, Merrick! The boys were so thrilled to sit at their own table.
It made me sad on the inside that they were old enough to do so. *weep*

Chili's with Aunt Rhonda & Uncle Jon
My Uncle Jon & Aunt Rhonda came for a visit. We took up three tables at Chili's
and only broke one glass object. Considering the ratio of small people to big people
I consider this an unmitigated success. Chili's may or may not agree on that.

At Tijuana Flats we also took up three tables. No broken glasses here, though!

But we did have smiles.

And pensive moments.

Running in the Sprinklers at Grandma & Grandpa's
The boys discovered playing in the sprinklers.

Naked.

Taste of the Nation with Erin & Elaine
Erin, Elaine and I drank (a lot of) wine at the annual Taste of the Nation Event.

(We ate a lot too).

Playing on the Chalkboard Table in the Playroom
I finished the chalk board table and the first thing the boys asked for was a train track.

Playing on the Patio
We made funny faces on the patio.

And Jonathan took some time to smell the flowers.

p.s. I also made some seriously yummy Barbecue Pineapple Pulled Pork.

It Only Took Me Four Tries to Set the Self Timer Correctly.

Easter Sunday with Erin's Family
We spent a lovely Sunday with our wonderful friends, Nick, Erin & Merrick.

I've been complaining a lot about time moving too quickly. It feels like someone bumped the fast forward button. I wish things would slow down a bit, life is kind of freaking me out. Too fast. Too fast!

It was great to have a leisurely afternoon with friends, though.

Remember how I said Casey peed in the potty? Well he did it again! This time in a public restroom. Woot! At this rate he will totally be potty trained by kindergarten. Totally.

Also? He's taken to singing my screwed up version of "Home on the Range" over and over and over again.

Jonathan prefers "Twinkle, Twinkle" and will sit on the potty, but not actually go. Which is fine.

Stephen's not interested in the potty yet. But he has taken a serious liking to pears and applesauce. Mmmmm. Carrots are okay too, but green beans? No, thank you. He's also rolling over. But not sleeping.

I'd rather he was sleeping.

A Tribute to Doing as Much as Possible!

Friday! Sea World with my parents. It was a scorcher (96 degrees in October?!), but we still had a great time checking the flamingos, sea lions, dolphins, alligators, sting rays, sharks, fish, frogs, manatees, penguins and so much more... and, of course, lets not forget the sand box!

In the evening our friends came in from Melbourne to celebrate Wesley's birthday and Casey had his first sleepover. How exciting! The boys spent about ten minutes when they first went to bed tattling on each other... "MOMMY, Casey's laughing!!!"... "MOMMY, Merrick's talking!!!" Too flipping cute. The big boys stayed up playing Rock Band, while Erin got her fill of Jessi's purple stained bundle of nummy nummy new baby.

Saturday! Wesley's birthday party!!! The little boys were tickled pink to throw a birthday party, so we brought them to Dollar Tree in the morning where they each picked out a mylar balloon, a present for daddy and party hats. I surprised Wes with food from his favorite restaurant and we all had a lovely afternoon watching football (and maybe playing just a little bit more Rock Band).

In the evening we packed up the kids and headed to Gainesville for the night to visit Wesley's parents and brother.

Sunday! A fun day with Grandma and Grandpa Mimi! The boys played in the yard, fed the fish, petted the guinea pigs (like the WonderPets, Mom!!!) and visited the park. Around dinner time we headed back to Orlando. Despite drive-thru snafus, tons of traffic and heavy rain we made it home by 7:30 and Wesley and I were able to enjoy a little bit of the evening to ourselves.

Monday! A visit to the vet for Izzie, followed by a trip to the pumpkin patch! The boys each picked out two baby pumpkins while I chose a whopper for carving. After the pumpkin patch we hit Old Navy for halloween costumes. How excited was I when the boys picked out lion and tiger outfits?! Hello! You'd better believe I got the new baby a bear costume!!! Yay!
