Tis the Season.

Practicing for Halloween

I recently took a very accurate and scientific poll wherein I asked when people think 'The Holidays' begin.  I will tell you all now, only one person got the answer right.  One!  I can't believe I'm having to explain this, but 'The Holidays' do in fact begin as soon as school starts.  Which in our case is the first week of August.  Happy Labor day, we're celebrating with jingle bells, pumpkin spice and some warbley Mariah Carey.  It's that time, baby.  Bring on the mistletoe.

Speaking of holidays, it's full blown Halloween up in these parts.  So don't assume my boys have gone all Metro when you see them looking like David Bowie circa 1987.  I mean, they probably are a little Metro, what with the nail painting and loafers. But still, the eye make-up they're sporting these days is just a little left-over pirate skeleton or maimed zombie.

And about those seasons - it's officially birthday season 'round here, and we're kicking it off with Brodie.  Well, I guess technically we kicked it off with me a few weeks ago, but since I didn't have a par-tay this year, I'll pass the honor to the Bro-ster.  We had some tasty Mexican followed by a sweet treat of frozen yogurt (or as my sister likes to call it 'Fro-Yo') in his honor.  Happy Birthday, Kiddo, it knocks my socks off that you're already three.

And on a completely unrelated note.  I think my brain is leaking from my ears thanks to this house renovation.  Our beginning of October finish date is looking extremely unlikely.  But on the plus side, we got walls this week.  Hurrah.
