Because It's What You Do.

Fajita Dinner in South Florida

I am so incredibly behind on life right now. Case in point, these pictures are from over two weeks ago.

For shame!!!

My grandma (Dreena if you know her through me) landed herself in the hospital and gave us all a good scare. In a matter of moments we went from the staunch position of 'we're absolutely not driving all the way back down to south Florida until Sally has the baby! No way, no how, no sir.' to 'on our way now.'

We stayed almost a week and it was simultaneously awful and wonderful. Family came from all over the country to surround Dreena with love and support. And to surround each other with love and support.

Everyone took turns harassing her in the hospital. To the point where I'm quite sure she was looking forward to the end of visiting hours each day. (But hopefully looking forward to them again in the morning). And when we weren't at the hospital we were sitting around tables, passing babies, laughing and eating inordinate amounts of fajitas. (Seriously, I made way too much food).

And in a very happy coincidence, we were able to introduce Josie to her god-grandfather. (Say that three times fast). Who happens to be my dad's brother. And Jonathan's namesake. And one of my very favorite people.

Also. We made a visit to the beach. Where Jonathan slept under a pile of yellow blanket, and Casey splashed his happy self into the freezing cold water. Again. (Don't judge).

p.s. Dreena's doing great.

p.p.s. Aunt Rhonda. You're pretty cool too.

Glad your grandmother is ok!! I look at these pictures and it reminds me of when I was younger, and being surrounded by SO much family. It brings back that warm feeling of lots of laughter and love being in the room. What great memories you are creating for your children!! And, those two pictures of one of the men holding your daughter, with her in the yellow outfit...really beautiful!
