Wesley surprised us and offered to take the afternoon off to do family stuff. Yay! The weather was outstanding today, so he suggested we go to the park, but I have to admit, I'm a teensy bit parked-out. I remembered, though, that we have annual zoo passes and suggested we go there instead. Wes was up for the challenge, so I filled our water bottles and sippy cups and off we went!
The zoo was AWESOME! It's a small zoo to begin with, and is really never swamped, but since we went on a weekday close to closing time (read = after the school field trips are gone), it was empty. We, literally, passed only two or three other people in the whole place. Casey loved it, because we could let him run amock without worrying that he would disappear among the throngs of people, and Jonathan is finally over his aversion to strollers. We circled the whole park and then de-pantsed Casey and let him run around in the Splash Zone.
We really couldn't have asked for a better trip. We had zero crying or tantrums, it was warm without being hot and everyone was happy!
Woot. Yay for sucessful day trips!
