Rainy Saturday

Today was rainy and gloomy and ick. And it was double ick because I was exhausted. Jonathan decided to get up every other hour last night for no apparent reason. Blah.

This afternoon Casey & I took a trip to the mall to blow off some toddler energy while Wesley & Jonathan hung out at the house and watched football.

After the mall Casey had spaghetti for dinner and Jonathan got green beans. The boys then took turns in the bathtub and *finally* we did the bedtime routine as a family. Now the little guys are sleeping... hopefully for the remainder of the night and until a decent hour tomorrow morning.

Costco & Friends

Today we played at home most of the day.

In the afternoon we took a quick trip to Costco for chicken, baby wipes and granola bars.

This afternoon Wes picked Merrick up from daycare because Erin ran a little late at work, then Erin, Nick, Jessi and Damon all came over for home-made (soggy) pizza.

Casey was so tired from playing on the patio all afternoon and then with his buddy, Merrick, that he started the night time routine all by himself (got his milk and cuddled in for Blues Clues). It was super cute. Merrick joined the Blues Clues crowd and then after Casey went to bed, Erin let me help her grade 7th grade journals.

Overall, it was a nice Friday night!

Bedtime & Breakfast

Crazy Grandma Diane missed the boys so much that she came up for bedtime & breakfast this past Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. We had a nice visit but it was too short!

I've included pics of Grandma Diane & the boys, Jonathan in the highchair, and Casey coloring & practicing his wizardry.

After Grandma Diane left, Wes had a meeting, so I took the boys to Target and we wandered about for a while. The boys were on their best behavior, so it was a pleasant outing!

The Coupon Game

Ok, I'm obsessed with coupons. Each week I try to outdo myself in savings. I think it will be a long time before I can top this week, though!!!

Green Beans are GOOD!

JJ tried green beans today and he gave them two slobbery thumbs up.

Casey refused to eat his after-nap snack without Bear and Blankie. He even offered Bear a few crackers. Bear politely said "no thank-you"

JJ kept getting his walker stuck. I think he was trying to parallel park or something?! Whatever he was trying to do, it wasn't working and he was getting mighty cranky.

Casey, as you can see, is now obsessed with all buckles. I've included a picture of him desperately trying to get to the one on his booster seat.

Back to the Grind

Wes went back to work yesterday, so we had a pretty low key day.

Fantasy Draft Day

Today was draft day for Wesley's fantasy football league, so our day was centered around this event.

In the morning we took a family trip to Kohl's to spend the $10 coupon Erin so kindly gave me (thanks Erin!). I got a cute orange striped top and Casey ran around the store like a mad man. After Kohl's, we went over to Nick and Erin's. The husbands left for their draft party and Erin & I fed the boys lunch.

After lunch I took the boys home for much needed naps and then we headed to Christie and Kevin's to meet up with Erin & Merrick. The kids all played while the moms chatted. Later the husbands returned and we ordered pizza. We all munched on pizza and reese's (mmmm...) and the kids had pizza and cereal straws. Around 830 we headed home with two very tired boys.

Lazy Day

Wesley's trial got continued, so today ended up being a lazy day. The boys woke up slowly (and kindly let Mommy sleep in), then they came in and woke Mommy up when it was time for JJ to eat. Casey thought no one was watching him, so he tried to sneak into the bathroom drawer.

Jonathan's been practicing his sitting skills and, in my opinion, he's getting quite good! After Casey took a nap we went and played with wet chalk on the patio. I think I had as much fun as Casey did.

For lunch we met Erin at Pollo Tropical and for dinner we went to Nick & Erin's and had pizza. Tonight Erin and I are meeting up with some friends at the Alehouse. Fun fun!

On this day in history, you figured out how to unscrew the cap from the toothpaste tube and unbuckle your stroller straps. Today was a big day!

Daddy's Day Off!

Guess what Wesley wanted to do on his day off? Go to the mall!!!! I kid you not.

After JJ and Casey's naps (check out JJ sleeping in his cool big boy duds) we went to the Oviedo Marketplace for lunch and walking around. Also, I shopped for the prizes to give out at Dani's baby shower. The Marketplace is not holding up well to all this wind and rain; there were lots and lots of puddles where the atrium style roof is leaking.

The boys are getting SOOO big. Casey looks more and more like a kid than a toddler, and it seems like this past week Jonathan really "gets it". He's interacting with us and his environment constantly - it's so neat to watch and a little sad too that it's happening so fast.

I have posted a picture of Casey in the same outfit JJ is wearing today. Casey was a couple months older at the time, though.

At the bottom are a couple videos of Casey on one of the automated rides at the mall. It's a little boring because he's very into pushing the submarine buttons, but it's still cute. And there's a good shot of Jonathan sleeping at the end of one.
